Badlands - day three

Day 3: Velefique to San Jose. 14 hours 8 minutes. 156km. 2,340m.

I recall very little about what was my shortest day except the Wild West ghost town and seeing the sea. Seeing the sea usually results in some kind of reward. An ice cream. The finish to a ride. A holiday. Seeing the sea in this case didn’t result in much reward. A hike a bike in the dark over a flooded beach is the extent of what I recall. Rolling into San Jose I realised we were in prime Spanish seaside tourist territory. A hotel, dinner in a restaurant (with some very odd looks from onlooking tourists) and a solid six hours sleep. Reward enough.
